Vivo rolls out Android 15-based FuntouchOS 15 update before the Pixels: eligible phone list, features | Tech Tips
Google is expected to release stable Android 15 to Pixels on October 15. However, Vivo has outdone Google by rolling out Android 15-based FuntouchOS 15 to its phones. Vivo vaunts a “smooth experience and additional customisation features” with this release. Here, we will check out the list of eligible phones for this update and what new FuntouchOS features these devices can expect.
FuntouchOS 15 eligible phones
The following phones are reportedly getting the update. The update may be happening in phases.
- Vivo X100 series
- Vivo X Fold 3 Pro
- iQOO 12

FuntouchOS 15 features
As per the FuntouchOS 15 changelog, you get the following features:
- Smart scheduling algorithm: FuntouchOS 15 can distinguish an app or service’s priority level and computing power requirements. Then, it allocates resources accordingly.
- Origin animations: FuntouchOS 15 is getting enhanced natural-feeling system dynamic effects. This impacts not just visuals but also the tactile experience.
- Optimised icon library, new Always-on Display styles, new fingerprint animation, super-widgets a new set of static vibrant wallpapers. So, you can theme your phone better.
- The screen recording pop-up now consists of options to change the mic and system sound controls and a draw/highlighter tool.
- New AI goodies include AI erase and AI photo enhance and cleanup suggestions in the Album app.
- New privacy features include call privacy protection that lowers the earpiece volume and an anti-peeping Notification option.
- You get more refinements like the ability to hide app labels on the homescreen, restructured settings menu, the inclusion of sleep standby optimisation in the battery settings, and improved Game Mode.
How to get FuntouchOS 15 update on Vivo phone
Before you update, ensure your phone has sufficient charge, storage space and a stable internet connection. Also, take a backup of your Vivo phone data.
Step 1: To update your Vivo phone to FuntouchOS 15, you have to go to the Vivo phone’s settings.
Step 2: Tap on System Update. The phone will check for the update.
Step 3: Tap on Download and install.
The installation process will take some time and the phone may reboot in the process. Once it boots to the lockscreen, unlock it and you should have the latest FuntouchOS update.
