Vivo S20, S20 Pro design and key specifications officially confirmed ahead of launch | Tech Tips

Vivo S20 and S20 Pro are set to debut in China on November 28th. These will succeed the Vivo S19 lineup from earlier this year. The company recently teased the design of the phones through poster images, which showed an identical look. Now, in new poster images, more Vivo S20 series details have been revealed before the launch.

The Vivo S-series is the brand’s mid-range lineup with premium cameras and performance. 

Vivo S20 series design and specs

Vivo S20 Pro

• The newly released teaser image shows the Vivo S20 Pro in Purple colour. The phone will feature a full-depth micro quad-curved screen.
• Vivo says the phone will offer the look of a straight screen and the feel of a curved panel.

• The poster image says the Vivo S20 Pro will get a new portrait telephoto lens. We see 100x zoom text engraved within the camera module layout.
• The Pro model will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC, compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ of the Vivo S19.
• The image says the phone will feature Vivo’s ‘Blue Crystal technology’, which could enhance the phone’s thermal efficiency.

Vivo S20

• On the other hand, the standard Vivo S20 will measure just 7.19mm in thickness and it will have a straight screen.

• The phone will pack a 6,500mAh battery that uses semi-solid-state technology. This is said to offer a large capacity battery without increasing the phone’s size. For context, Vivo S19 featured a 6000mAh cell.
• The Vivo S20 will feature ‘Dopamine Live Dynamic Photos’ and a new film camera mode.
• The Vivo S20 series will be available in Gold (inspired by phoenix feathers) and Purple colours.

Vivo S20 series: what do we know so far?

• Display: The Vivo S20 series is officially confirmed to feature a BOE Q10 OLED screen. While the display size is not confirmed, rumours claim a 6.67-inch size compared to a 6.78-inch panel on the predecessor.
• Chipset: The standard Vivo S20 could be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset much like the predecessor.
• Vivo S20 Pro cameras: The company has confirmed the Vivo S20 Pro will have a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone will also house a 50MP sensor for selfies. 
• Vivo S20 cameras: On the other hand, the Vivo S20 is expected to have a 50MP + 8MP dual camera setup and a 50MP front camera. This is the same combination as the Vivo S19.
• Battery: We already know the vanilla Vivo S20 will have a 6,500mAh battery. The Pro variant is tipped to get a slightly smaller cell. There could be 90W fast charging.

The Vivo S-series is usually limited to the Chinese market but the phones are rebranded for global markets, including India under the V-lineup. There are chances the same might happen with the Vivo S20 series as well. These could be rebranded as Vivo S50.
