EV maker Hop Electric has launched the high-speed version of its Hop Leo electric scooter in India, priced under Rs 1 lakh. The new Hop Leo electric scooter claims to deliver a range of 120km on a single charge. Given that it is the high-speed variant, the electric scooter can go up to a top speed of 52kmph and will require registration for usage on public roads. The Hop Leo also gets features such as riding modes, LCD display, and LED lighting.
HOP Leo electric scooter price in India, availability
The high-speed variant of the HOP Leo electric scooter has been launched in India for a price of Rs 97,000 (ex-showroom) and will be available at HOP dealerships from January 23rd onwards. The EV will be available in five colour options – Black, White, Grey, Blue and Red. The company will also be offering a warranty of three years/40,000km on the battery and a three-year warranty on the vehicle. The HOP Leo electric scooter will compete with the likes of the Ola S1 Air and the Ola S1 in India.

The HOP Leo electric in its high-speed version uses a 2.1kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with an electric motor that generates a peak power of 2.9bhp and a peak torque of 90Nm. The powertrain delivers a claimed range of 120km on a single charge. The HOP Leo can charge from 0 to 80 percent in 2.5 hours via an 850W charger. The powertrain on the HOP Leo is capable of taking the scooter to a top speed of 52kmph and has a load-bearing capacity of 160kg.
The HOP Leo gets features such as LED lighting, combi braking with disc brakes, telescopic front suspension, LCD display, mobile charger, regenerative braking etc. The HOP Leo gets 4 riding modes that include – Eco, Power, Sport, and Reverse. The EV will also be offered with a third-party GPS tracker as an option. The electric scooter gets 90 section 10-inch wheels, IP65 and IP67-rated electrical components, 19.75 litres of under-seat storage space, and 160mm ground clearance. The HOP Leo electric scooter tips the scale at 90kg (kerb).
