Popular quick-commerce platform, Blinkit (owned by Zomato) has announced ‘ambulance in 10 minutes’ services. As a pilot, the new services will be first available in Gurugram and will be expanded to more areas gradually.

Blinkit ambulance services

  • At launch, Blinkit will have a total of five ambulances running on the road of Gurugram. The company plans to expand to all major cities over the next two years.
  • Once available in your area, you will be able to book Blinkit’s Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance directly from the Blinkit app.
  • Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa posted on X that each Blinkit ambulance will have a paramedic, an assistant and a trained driver.
  • The ambulances will be equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, an AED (automated external defibrillator), a stretcher, a monitor, and a suction machine.
  • There will also be all the required essential emergency medicines and injections.
  • While the pricing details of the services are not explicitly revealed, the image shared by the executive shows a flat rate of Rs 2,000. We should learn more when the service is expanded widely.
  • Albinder says that Blinkit will run the ambulances at an affordable cost for customers and notes that the company will “invest in solving this critical problem for the long term.”

This comes after Blinkit recently expanded its grocery delivery services to Jammu, Raipur, Hisar, Lonavala and Khandala, where it claims to deliver over 10,000+ products in just 10 minutes. The company also launched Bistro, which is its new app for quick food delivery from nearby restaurants.
