YouTube Premium launched in India in 2019, around six years after its debut. With YouTube Premium, you get features like ad-free streaming, offline downloads, background play, and an enhanced bitrate version of 1080p. You also get to continue watching the video where you left off. Another major benefit is YouTube Music bundled with the YouTube Premium plan at no extra cost. So you can stream music separately from the YouTube Music app or platform.

The new prices for the YouTube Premium plans are now live in India. The price hike comes amid YouTube’s ongoing efforts to stop people from using ad blockers. YouTube has made it difficult for users with ad blockers by showing blank ads or black screens before a video. These appear for around the duration of a typical ad on YouTube.
