ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra spotted on IMEI database but launch might not be soon | Tech Tips

After the Zenfone 11 Ultra from earlier this year, ASUS looks to be working on a successor, the Zenfone 12 Ultra. Now, the handset has appeared on the IMEI database and the listing reveals the model number and confirms the marketing name of the phone. Check out the complete details.

ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra could be in the works

  • The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra has been spotted on the IMEI database with the model number ‘ASUSAI2501H’.
  • The Gizmochina report notes the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra appears to be a clone of the ASUS ROG Phone 9 and might have the same features.

  • This adds weight considering the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra and ROG Phone 8 series shared identical hardware.
  • Before you get excited, the report notes that the phone may not be launching anytime soon.

The Zenfone 12 Ultra could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, so will the ROG Phone 9. This will be an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the predecessor. The new chip is believed to be based on TSMC’s 3nm architecture. We can expect major performance on the successor when it launches soon.

Not much is known about the ROG Phone 9 or the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra at the moment but since the Zenfone 11 Ultra debuted in March this year, we can speculate the successor might also arrive around the same time frame. However, considering most brands are pushing their usual launch schedules ahead, ASUS might also bring the phone slightly early.

To recall, the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra came with a 6.78-inch FHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 layer. The handset has a 50MP IMX890 main camera with gimbal OIS, a 32MP 3X telephoto sensor and a 13MP Ultrawide sensor. We have a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies. The phone houses a 5,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging.
