Xiaomi tipped to be working on compact Redmi smartphone with 6,000mAh battery | Tech Tips
Compact flagship smartphones seem to be the new trend with Vivo launching the X200 Pro Mini and Xiaomi is also reportedly working on one. This will be a Redmi smartphone with a small-screen display that is tipped to be in the works. Xiaomi already offers a compact phone under its flagship lineup and now it might offer one from the Redmi sub-brand.
New Redmi compact phone in the works
- Redmi is reportedly planning to launch a sub-flagship compact smartphone, according to the tipster Digital Chat Station (via GizmoChina).
- This smartphone will feature a 6.3-inch display and feature a 6,000mAh battery.
- While that sounds great, the Redmi compact phone will not come with a telephoto lens. The smartphone is also said to miss out on wireless charging support.
- It will however be a high-performance sub-flagship smartphone, according to the tipster. So we can expect a flagship-level chipset on the Redmi compact phone.
With a 6.3-inch display, the rumoured Redmi phone would measure the same as the Xiaomi 14, which has a 6.36-inch display. Details about its design haven’t been revealed yet. With Redmi, Xiaomi hasn’t gone the ‘compact’ route yet so it will be interesting to see what it plans to offer with the device. It might even compete with the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, which just launched in China as part of the brand’s flagship lineup. Samsung also offers the Galaxy S24 as a compact flagship and it has a 6.2-inch display.
There isn’t much that we know about the Redmi compact phone and it looks like the development is still in the early stages. Xiaomi is currently gearing up to launch the Redmi K80 series, which is expected to debut next month. This is Redmi’s flagship lineup that is expected to include two phones: Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro.
