Xiaomi 15 series could be debuting later this year going by the recent flow of rumours and leaks. These will succeed the Xiaomi 14 series and will be one of the first to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Besides the vanilla and Pro variant, we might see an Ultra variant as well and this might debut in the first half of 2025.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra could debut globally in 2025
- Tipster DigitalChatStation claims the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a quad-camera setup similar to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra from this year.
- In comparison, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will have triple cameras, based on rumours.
- The Ultra variant could see a 200MP camera but this may not be a primary lens, instead could be a periscope telephoto camera.
- For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra shipped with a 50MP Sony LYT-900 camera, a 50MP Leica ultra-wide angle lens, a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP 5X 30cm Leica periscope telephoto camera with f/2.5 aperture and OIS.
Earlier reports revealed the Xiaomi 15 Ultra could come with a dual-layer OLED display and this will have a 2K resolution. The phone could house an ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor for security. It could run on Android 15 based on HyperOS 2.0 custom skin out of the box.
Since the phone will be debuting in 2025, it will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. For context, the predecessor came with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. All the upcoming flagships are rumoured to have larger battery cells, including OnePlus, iQOO and others. Xiaomi 15 Ultra too is tipped to get a 6,200mAh battery.
