The Xiaomi 15 series launched in China last month. The next flagship from the brand is expected to be the Ultra variant in the lineup. It is expected to arrive sometime in the first half of next year since the Xiaomi 14 Ultra (review) debuted this February. Key details about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra have been surfacing now and then. Now a new image doing the rounds on Weibo reveals the internal design of the smartphone that suggests changes in camera arrangements.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra could have a different camera arrangement

• As per the allegedly leaked image, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will retain the circular protruding camera island.
• Compared to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the camera sensors on its successors could be placed differently.
• If the newly leaked image indeed turns out to be true, the periscope lens will be moved to the top row of the module with Leica branding beside it. The LED flash unit is also placed above the sensor.
• The other three sensors are positioned below beside each other. They are expected to be primary, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto lenses.
  
• To recall, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has sensors placed in such a way that it becomes a square shape. The Leica branding is in the centre and the LED flash unit is below the sensors.
• Rumors suggest that the periscope camera on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be a 200MP sensor with a 100mm focal length and 4.3x optical zoom. This also explains why the change in camera arrangement.
• The image corroborates a previously leaked render that gives a clear glimpse of the redesign.
• A wireless charging coil confirms the device’s support for wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to come with a curved display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a 6,000mAh battery unit. As per a past report, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s launch could take place as early as January 2025.
