Xiaomi 15 series and HyperOS 2.0 to release on October 10th, Xiaomi 15 Ultra launch preponed: report | Tech Tips
Xiaomi 15 series will be the next flagship offering from the brand and should be one of the first to debut with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The lineup will include the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. There will also be a Xiaomi 15 Ultra variant but this could debut in the first or early second quarter of 2025, considering the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra timelines. However, in a new revelation, tipster DigitalChatStation claims that if everything goes well, Xiaomi might significantly prepone the Xiaomi 15 Ultra launch.
On the sidelines, it is known that Xiaomi is working on the HyperOS 2.0 custom skin. The latest leak now claims that the new version might debut on October 10th. Will we be seeing the new Xiaomi 15 series on the same day?
Xiaomi 15 Ultra might launch sooner than usual
- The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is originally expected to get official in March-April 2025 considering the predecessors, will be coming out two months early, according to the latest leak by DigitalChatStation.
- All major Android flagships that are expected to debut later this year are slightly pushing ahead with their usual launch timelines, probably in a move to capture the market with newer offerings and have first movers advantage.
- In line with that, even Qualcomm is believed to announce its Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC in October.
- This will give the chipmaker and OMEs a chance to take on new Apple flagships, which will be unveiled on September 9th.
Tuning in line with that, a separate leak (via) that surfaced online claims the Redmi K70 Ultra might receive the HyperOS 2.0.1.0.VNNCNXM update on October 10th. This could mean the new custom skin might be unveiled on the same day officially.
What makes this development significant is that there are chances the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro might also debut on October 10th. This is considering earlier rumours hinted that the new flagships will be the first to boot HyperOS 2.0 OS out of the box. If true, we should see more teasers or confirmations from the brand shortly. To recall, the Xiaomi 14 series debuted towards the end of October.
HyperOS 2.0 will have versions based on Android 14 and Android 15 and should be compatible with many Redmi, Xiaomi and POCO phones. The new custom skin is expected to bring a wide range of features, including the ability to detect hidden cameras. There could be several new AI features on board, including smart battery management, improved charging, enhanced photo and video editing, and more. There should be better multitasking capabilities, improved stability, and much more.
