Vivo X200, X200 Pro confirmed to launch in India soon; teaser revealed | Tech Tips
Following the announcement of the Vivo X200 series this week in Malaysia, the smartphone brand is all set to launch the series for Indian consumers. Without revealing the launch date, the company has teased the X200 series phones in the country.
The series, initially introduced in China, includes three models – X200, X200 Pro and X200 Pro Mini. They are equipped with a flagship MediaTek chipset, a high-end camera setup and much more. Here are the India launch-related details of the upcoming X200 series.
Vivo X200 series India launch teased
- The smartphone brand has posted a teaser on the official handle on X (formerly Twitter) about the upcoming Vivo X200 series, which mentions “coming soon”.
- Alongside that, Vivo has also revealed the microsite, which confirmed the series in India will only include the vanilla and Pro variants, like the X100 and X100 Pro.
- The microsite reveals key specifications of both models, suggesting they will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, like the global models.
- As per the brand, the Vivo X200 Pro will be the first smartphone in India to feature a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera.
The exact India launch date of the upcoming Vivo X200 series hasn’t been revealed yet but is expected to be announced soon. Meanwhile, an exclusive report by 91mobiles recently stated that the series will go official in India by November end or early December, which likely seems to be true.
Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro specifications, price
While the microsite does not reveal all key specifications of the Vivo X200 series phones, they have already been introduced globally. Therefore, the complete specifications are available and are expected to be included in the Indian variants as well.
- Display: While the Vivo X200 flaunts a 6.67-inch 120Hz quad-curved display, the Vivo X200 Pro has a bigger 6.78-inch display with up to 120Hz adaptive dynamic refresh rate.
- Chipset: The Vivo X200 series phones pack the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset compared to the Dimensity 9300 SoC on the predecessors. Additionally, they include an advanced Vivo V3+ imaging chip.
- Rear cameras: The Vivo X200 sports a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 50MP Zeiss telephoto camera, while the Vivo X200 Pro will boast a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 200MP Zeiss APO telephoto sensor.
- Selfie camera: The Vivo X200 and X200 Pro will house a 32MP sensor on the front for taking selfies and video chats, similar to the predecessor phones.
- Battery: The X200 will feature a 5800mAh battery, while the Pro model will have a 6,000mAh battery, which is an upgrade compared to the X100 and X100 Pro. They will get 90W wired charging support rather than the 120W wired charging available on the predecessors.
Several other features, such as IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance rating, advanced fingerprint sensors, and wireless charging support, are also available on these Vivo X200 series smartphones, which are expected to be unveiled soon in India.
Prices
In terms of pricing, the X200 series was announced in China at a starting price of CNY 4,299 (around Rs 50,000) for the 12GB+256GB variant, while in Malaysia, it was launched for 3,599 Malaysian Ringgit approx (Rs 73,502).
To recall, the X100 series in India was introduced for Rs 63,999 for the same storage model, and the upcoming series is expected to be priced similarly. Stay tuned for more updates.
