The Vivo S20 series has launched in China today. It follows the Vivo S19 series that was released earlier in May this year. The newest arrivals are the Vivo S20 and S20 Pro. The two devices pack incremental upgrades over their predecessor. The S20 duo are different from each other in some key areas. Take a look at the technical details below.
Vivo S20, S20 Pro pricing and availability
- The Vivo S20 and S20 Pro are offered with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
- Both smartphones come in Phoenix Feather Gold and Lose Smoke Ink. The Pro variant also gets a Purple Air shade whereas the vanilla model is offered in Jade Dew White.
- The S20 and S20 Pro carry a starting price tag of CNY 2,299 (Rs 26,790 approx) and CNY 3,399 (Rs 39,600 approx) respectively.

Vivo’s S-series smartphones debut in the global markets as Vivo V-series. The S20 lineup is expected to launch as V50.
Vivo S20, S20 Pro specifications
- Display: The Vivo S20 and S20 Pro both have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. The standard model has a flat panel whereas the pro variant has a curved screen.
- Camera: The S20 features a dual camera setup of a 50MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the other hand, the S20 Pro sports a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP periscope shooter with 3x zoom. Both phones have a 50MP front snapper.
- Processor: The Vivo S20 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 whereas the S20 Pro is equipped with Dimensity 9300+.
- Battery: The S20 runs on a 6,500mAh cell with 80W fast charging. The S20 Pro is backed by a 5,500mAh unit with support for 90W charging.
- Software and other features: The Vivo S20 series comes pre-installed with OriginOS 5-based Android 15. The phones feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner, stereo speaker, USB-C, and dual-band GPS.
Vivo S20 series: what’s new
The Vivo S20 duo retains the same display and design compared to its predecessor. The standard model also has the same chipset as the S19. The brand has upgraded the processor on the S20 Pro model. The camera setup also gets an upgrade as the device has a 50MP periscope lens now instead of 8MP telephoto. The S20 comes with a bumped-up capacity whereas it remains unchanged on the pro model.
