5G was commercially launched in India back in 2022. Since then Airtel and Reliance Jio have been rolling out the latest generation cellular network acorss the country. However, Vi lagged behind in this race due to its financial woes. Now, the telecom operator has finally started the rollout of 5G services, but in a select few areas in the country. Last month, it was reported that Vi would launch 5G in 17 circles by March 2025.
Vi 5G commercial rollout begins after two years
- Vi is the third telecom operator in India to start the rollout of 5G network.
- At present, the latest-generation cellular network is available in 17 licensed service areas (LAS) in the country.
- The rollout is limited and not everybody would be able to access 5G connectivity.
- According to a report by TelecomTalk, the 5G network is deployed on 3.3GHz and 26GHz spectrums.
- Additionally, the 5G connectivity is only available for prepaid customers with a Rs 475 plan and postpaid subscribers with a REDX 1101 plan.
- Details about the benefits of these plans are not known at the moment. They are not available on Vi’s official website.
- Currently, 5G services are commercially available only in select areas of Pune, Delhi, Chennai, and Jalandhar.

Here’s a list of locations where Vi’s 5G service is now live across 17 states in India.
- Rajasthan: Jaipur (near Galaxy Cinema, Mansarovar Industrial Area, RIICO)
- Haryana: Karnal (HSIIDC, Industrial Area, Sector-3)
- Kolkata: Sector V, Salt Lake
- Kerala: Thrikkakara, Kakkanad
- UP East: Lucknow (Vibhuti Khand, Gomtinagar)
- UP West: Agra (Near J.P. Hotel, Fatehbad Road)
- Madhya Pradesh: Indore (Electronic Complex, Pardeshipura)
- Gujarat: Ahmedabad (Near Divya Bhaskar, Corporate Road, Makarba, Prahladnagar)
- Andhra Pradesh: Hyderabad (Aida Upal, Ranga Reddy)
- West Bengal: Siliguri (City Plaza Sevok Road)
- Bihar: Patna (Anishabad Golamber)
- Mumbai: Worli, Marol Andheri East
- Karnataka: Bengaluru (Dairy Circle)
- Punjab: Jalandhar (Kot Kalan)
- Tamil Nadu: Chennai (Perungudi, Nesapakkam)
- Maharashtra: Pune (Shivaji Nagar)
- Delhi: Okhla Industrial Area (Phase 2, India Gate, Pragati Maidan)
A wider rollout of Vi’s 5G connectivity is expected to happen in the coming months. Vi users will be able to experience faster internet and stable connectivity.
