Upcoming phones from OPPO, Realme, and Nubia will feature iPhone 16-like camera button | Tech Tips
iPhone 16 series introduced a new camera control button that enables easy zooming while clicking pictures. Now, three Android phone manufacturers have announced the camera control button on their phones. OPPO, Realme, and Nubia will reportedly bring buttons similar to Apple’s camera/capture button.
Camera button on future OPPO, Realme, and Nubia
As per a report by Tom’s Guide, OPPO, Realme, and Nubia will soon bring buttons similar to Apple’s camera/capture button.
Realme’s camera button meant for an unannounced phone was shown off. The video clip shared by the company’s VP Chase Xu showed the button and it looks to be doing the same thing that the camera button on an iPhone does. The executive said the button will quickly open up the camera app and can be used to zoom in and out and take photos.
Nubia is also working on a camera button as the brand’s president Ni Fei teased an upcoming phone on Weibo. The phone will feature AI, a new camera button, and a better screen. Beyond this, no details of the phone are mentioned at this point but we’re expecting more teasers to come our way shortly.
As already tipped, besides Realme and Nubia, OPPO is also reportedly working on bringing its version of the camera button. The upcoming Find X8 series will reportedly feature this button and is being called ‘Quick Button” for now. It will be placed on the right edge below the power and volume rocker buttons. There will be a ‘Camera Mode’ that will take a photo on a single tap, record video on long press, and swipe across the bottom to zoom in and out. Besides this, the button can also be used while gaming to shoot down opponents in FPS titles.
While Apple may not be the first company to feature a camera button, the functionality and what it does is considerably new. This could be why other brands are eager to incorporate the same on their flagships and innovate with newer features and capabilities.
