Samsung One UI 7 public beta release confirmed | Tech Tips
Samsung One UI 7 will make its official debut as a stable release with the new Galaxy flagship in 2025, presumably the Galaxy S25 series. This is a long wait considering the update is rolled out in stable within the same calendar year. The company recently announced the One UI 7 beta will be made available before the end of this year but a blog post hinted it could be exclusive for developers.
Now, the South Korean giant confirmed the One UI 7 will be available as a public beta as well. This is good news for those interested in trying out the new OS. However, the timeline of the release is not revealed.
One UI 7 will have a public beta release
- Going into details, a One UI Beta team member and moderator responding to a user’s query on Samsung’s Community Forum said that One UI 7 beta won’t be restricted to developers.
- This means the One UI 7 will have a public release “when the schedule is confirmed,” and users will be notified via the Samsung Members app once the beta rollout starts.
- Public beta is not something that is new for Samsung as it rolled out beta builds for previous One UI versions as well.
- Samsung has only explicitly confirmed One UI beta for developers and not public beta, which led to initial confusion among Samsung flagship users.
- However, it is still quite possible that One UI 7 based on Android 15 will be made available only for developers before the end of this year and the public beta for compatible models could be released in 2025.
- This is considering Samsung already confirmed its plans to launch One UI 7 only in 2025 with its next batch of Galaxy flagships, presumably called the Samsung Galaxy S25.
Samsung’s One UI 7 will be based on the latest Android 15 OS. The new skin is expected to bring a redesigned control centre akin to iOS, with a notification panel separated from the control centre. The UI will also bring improved animations, new icons to Samsung apps and more.
