Samsung One UI 7 beta update for Galaxy S24 series now available in India | Tech Tips

Samsung announced the One UI 7 beta program earlier this month but was only limited to certain regions like South Korea, the US and UK, and Germany. However, that changes now as the company is expanding the beta program to the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra flagships in more countries. Indian users can now receive the One UI 7 beta update.

One UI 7 beta is here

• Samsung Galaxy S24 series users in India can sign up (via) for the One UI 7 beta update through the Samsung Members app.

• Once done, the update should be readily available, if not you can check for the same from Settings > Software update menu.
• The One UI 7 beta update weighs around 4.7GB in size (presumably on the Galaxy S24 Ultra) and brings the December security patch.
• Besides India, this update is rolling out in the UK, the US, Germany, and South Korea as the second One UI 7 beta build.
• Samsung is expected to expand the beta program to more devices in the first quarter of 2025, possibly after the Galaxy S25 series launch.

One UI 7 features

• Now Bar: One UI 7 brings ‘Now Bar’, which as the name suggests is a bar at the bottom of the lockscreen that displays ongoing activities from various apps like Maps, Samsung Health, Music Player, Clock, and others.
• Camera app: The camera app interface has been revamped and it now rearranges various camera buttons, controls and modes. We also get a simplified manual settings layout and granular zoom controls.
• Vertical app drawer: One UI 7 now allows you to have a vertical app drawer. You can enable this by tapping the 3-dot button on the bottom right corner of the app drawer and picking Alphabetical Order as the sort mode. This will enable a vertical app drawer.
• AI features: One UI 7 brings refinements and improvements to AI features. There are new advanced writing tools like summarising content and call transcripts in 20 languages along with an automatic call transcription option.
• New app icons: There are new app icons for Gallery, Calculator, Camera and others. We also get new widgets for Clock, battery status, etc.
• Battery protection: Now you can set Maximum battery protection settings to stop at 80 percent, 85 percent, 90 percent, or 95 percent.
