  • The Galaxy S26 series will be launched in 2026.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is going to be the centre of attention ahead of their expected launch next month. So far, leaks and rumours have revealed plenty of details. The entire lineup will reportedly be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC in all markets. Now, hot on the heels of the recent development of the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s chipset, a tipster on X has reveals the South Korean brand’s alleged plans for the Galaxy S26 series.

Samsung could switch to Exynos chip for the Galaxy S26 series

  • As per tipster Jukanlosreve, Samsung is aiming to significantly equip the Galaxy S26 series with Exynos processors.
  • There’s still plenty of time for the launch of the S26 series that is expected to happen in January 2026
  • But, it seems possible that the South Korean brand could go back to its in-house silicon for the flagship S-series after the upcoming S25 lineup.
  • The Galaxy S25 models were rumoured to feature the Exynos 2500 chipset.
  • However, the company reportedly decided to go ahead with the Snapdragon 8 Elite due to the low yield rate issues faced by Samsung Foundry.
  • As per the recent report, this challenge has been fixed with the mass production of the Exynos 2500 based on 3nm node will commence soon.
  • The same processor is now rumoured to power the Galaxy Z Flip 7 suggesting a shift in the processor strategy from Snapdragon on next-year’s clamshell foldable.
  • The company believes that the production issues have been resolved and it can rely on its in-house processor for the Galaxy S26 series.

Going by the report, it seems that Samsung will return to Exynos-Snapdragon split strategy for the Galaxy S26 in 2026 which is similar to this year’s S24 lineup. The devices will have the company’s processor in select markets like Asia, Europe, and Middle East whereas US region will get Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon SoC. The last time Samsung sticked to Qualcomm chipsets across all markets for its flagship S-series was with the Galaxy S23 in 2023.
