Samsung Galaxy A56 5G 3C listing reveals upgraded charging speed | Tech Tips
91mobiles has just spotted Galaxy SM-A5660 (believed to be the Galaxy A56 5G) on China’s 3C certification website. We already found this phone on similar certification sites. But, the biggest reveal from this new listing is that the phone has a faster charging speed than its predecessor, the Galaxy A55. Here are the details:
Samsung Galaxy A56 5G 3C listing: charging speed
Samsung Galaxy A56 5G will succeed the Galaxy A55 5G that launched last March. As per the 3C appearance, the Galaxy A56 sports 45W charging support. Meanwhile, the A55 only supported 25W charging. So, this is a clear upgrade and especially notable since Samsung generally earmarks 45W for its flagships. The Galaxy S24 Ultra supports 45W charging.
The listing also discloses that the A56 will ship without an adapter. So, you’ll have to buy it separately.
Besides that, from previous leaks and rumours, we know the newcomer could also bring other upgrades:
Samsung Galaxy A56: everything else we know
- Samsung is expected to ship this phone with an Exynos 1580 chipset. The rumours suggest it could perform somewhat comparable to the Snapdragon 888 (a 2021 chip found inside the Samsung Galaxy S21). We have an idea of how much the 1580 would perform thanks to the following leaked scores:
- Samsung Galaxy A56 with a different model number SM-A566B was spotted on Geekbench with a score of 1,341 in the single-core test and 3,836 in the multi-core test. Again a clear jump from the Galaxy A55 (with Exynos 1480 SoC) that scored only 1,148 in the single-core test and 3,447 in the multi-core test.
- The tested model was running on 8GB RAM. Let’s see what other RAM options we get since the Galaxy A55 is available in India with 8/12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
- On top of this hardware, we could get Android 15-based One UI software, Xclipse 540 GPU (RDNA-3 architecture), and a newer NPU (for AI tasks).
- One area where it may not get an upgrade is the rear cameras. As with the A55, the A56 could also have a 50MP+12MP+5MP triplet. The front though could get a 32MP sensor while the A55 only has a 12MP shooter.
- With all these upgrades, the phone could launch in 2025 (following Galaxy S25’s release) between €450 (about Rs 40,228.20) and €500 (around Rs 44,698.00). The Galaxy A55 was launched in India in March 2024 starting at Rs 39,999 for the 8+128GB model.
