Redmi Buds 6, Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speakers launched in India: price, specifications | Tech Tips

Alongside the launch of the Redmi Note 14 series today, the Xiaomi sub-brand also announced two new audio devices. These include the Redmi Buds 6 and the Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker. Both devices pack significant upgrades compared to the Redmi Buds 5 and the Mi Portable Bluetooth speaker respectively. The latest audio offerings offer powerful sound and a long-lasting battery life. 

Redmi Buds 6 and Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker pricing and availability in India

• The Redmi Buds 6 carries a price tag of Rs 2,999 which is the same as its predecessor. 
• However, it can be purchased at an introductory price of Rs 2,799 till December 19.
• The TWS earphone is offered in Titan White, Ivy Green, and Spectre Black colours and will go on sale starting December 13 from Amazon, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s website as well as retail stores. 
• The Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker costs Rs 3,999 and is available in Black, Blue, and Red colours.
• As a part of the launch offer, it will also be available for Rs 3,499 till December 19 from Flipkart and Xiaomi’s online and offline stores. 

Redmi Buds 6 specifications 

• Design: The Redmi Buds 6 have an in-ear design with a stem and silicone ear tips. It comes in a rectangular-shaped case with an LED Flow display that shows real-time battery status. 
• Drivers: The TWS earphone is equipped with a 12.4mm titanium diaphragm and 5.5mm ceramic driver. 
• Noise cancellation: The Buds 6 come with active noise cancellation up to 49dB. There is AI ENC with each earbud having two mics for reducing wind noise and a clear quality on calls. The three-level transparency mode allows the user to be aware of the surroundings. 
• Battery: The audio device is backed by a 475mAh battery unit claimed to offer up to 42 hours of total usage. Each earbud has 54mAh cell that is said to offer 10 and 6.5 hours of battery with ANC enabled and disabled respectively. 
• Other features: Other features on the Redmi Buds 6 include 360-degree spatial audio, dual-device connectivity, one-tap photo capture, customisable gesture controls, and in-ear detection. The earphones come with Bluetooth 5.4 and a IP54 rating. 

Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker specifications

• Design: The Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker has a cylindrical-shaped design for placing it vertically and horizontally on any surface. It features anti-slip pads, a fluid mesh, and anti-loss lanyard. 
• IP rating: The speaker is IP67-certified dust and water-resistant. It is capable of withstanding immersion in water up to 1 meters for 30 minutes. 
• Audio: The Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker is equipped with dual subwoofers and capable of outputting 30W audio. 
• Battery and connectivity: The audio device is powered by a 2,600mAh cell claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of usage. It also has Type-C fast charging at 15W. There is support for Bluetooth 5.4 with a range of 25 meters. 
• Other features: The Xiaomi Sound Outdoor Speaker comes with physical buttons for music playback and hands-free calling. It can be paired with TWS earphones and also up to 100 speakers for a surround sound experience.
