Android OEMs such as OnePlus, Samsung, Nothing, OPPO and others are gearing up to release their version based on the latest OS. One such brand is Realme, which now confirmed its Realme UI 6.0 will be debuting in October in China. The OS might be largely based on OPPO’s ColorOS.
Realme UI 6.0 launch confirmed
- Realme product manager Kangda Leo has confirmed the Realme UI 6.0 will be unveiled in China in October. It will be based on Android 15.
- As said, the new UI may inherit some of the features of ColorOS 15, which will land on October 17th.
- While the exact announcement date is not revealed at the moment, it could be around the time of the ColorOS 15 next month.
- The new ColorOS 6.0 will incorporate Android 15 features that were debuted during Google I/O 2024 conference.
- The list of compatible phones that will be receiving the update should be revealed when the new OS is unveiled. We can speculate most modern phones from Realme should get the update.
While the features list is not officially out for Realme UI 6.0, it is expected to bring better and refined system animations to make the whole scrolling experience seamless and fluid. The notification area and control center could be separated much like iOS. This change will be consistent across OxygenOS, ColorOS, and Realme UI.
There are speculations that Realme UI 6.0 will bring newer AI features. This is in addition to the already existing AI on new the GT series flagships. We believe some of these might tickle down to mid-range models as well. The new OS could bring a ‘Private Safe’, which as the name suggests could be a digital safe to hide specific applications that the user doesn’t want to be exposed.
Other inclusions could be the ability to save favourite split-screen combinations, and OS-level support to archive/unarchive applications. The Realme UI 6.0 beta should be made available to select models and later expand to a wide range of phones with a stable rollout.
