Qualcomm introduced the new Snapdragon X Plus series chipsets at IFA today, enabling OEMs to offer Copilot+ PCs in the $700 to $900 range. Snapdragon X Plus octa-core processors feature a 45 TOPS NPU and will be featured in offerings from brands like Acer, ASUS, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications and features of the new chipset.

Snapdragon X Plus processors: specifications

• The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus lineup has two octa-core processor variants: the X1P-46-100 and the X1P-42-100.
  
• CPU: Both of these processors come with 8 Oryon CPU cores and have a maximum frequency of 4GHz and 3.4GHz, respectively.

• The processors are built on a 4nm process and equipped with the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, which runs 45 TOPS and powers the latest Copilot+ PC.
  
• GPU: The chipsets also include the Qualcomm Adreno GPU, which is slightly underpowered compared to the 10-core and 12-core processors in the processor lineup.
• The X1P-46-100 will feature an Adreno GPU with 2.1 TFLOPS of power, while the X1P-42-100 will feature an Adreno GPU with 1.7 TFLOPS of power.
  
• Video output: The chipsets can support up to 3 external screens with UHD resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.
  
• Camera: The processors can support up to a 36MP camera with 4K HDR video capture capabilities.
  
• Memory & storage: Both processors support up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 8448 MT/s and support for UFS 4.0 and NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSDs for storage.
• Wireless connectivity: the processors come with support for Bluetooth v5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, ensuring high data speeds and seamless connectivity.
• Security: The chipsets have a Qualcomm Secure Processing Unit supporting Microsoft Pluton TPM, total memory encryption, and Microsoft Secured-core PC support.
