PS Plus free games for October 2024 – WWE 2K24, Dead Space, and more | Tech Tips

The month of October brings with it some very interesting titles to the PlayStation Plus lineup. This includes something for wrestling fans with WWE 2K24, while horror fans can enjoy the Dead Space Remake (review)! Doki Doki Literature Club is a very interesting game and should make for a good introduction to the zaniness of the visual novel genre of games. Note that all three of the games should already by available to PS Plus subscribers.

WWE 2K24 (PS4, PS5)

The WWE 2K series has been the go-to game for wrestling fans for many years now. WWE 2K24 is the latest game in the lineup and serves as a great tribute to 40 years of WrestleMania. The game’s showcase mode will let players experience the most iconic matches in the history of the brand and recreate each match’s iconic moments. Aside from that, players can also take part in standard matches with the entire roster of WWE talent, including the likes of Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Rhea Ripley. Players can also be WWE legends such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Andre the Giant, and more.

Dead Space (PS5)

Dead Space is considered by many to be one of the finest action-horror games ever made. However, since the initial game was launched in 2008, the game was starting to show its age. Thankfully, the 2023 remake gives this old game a new lick of paint and gives another generation of players a chance to experience the game. The game is also noted for its unique dismemberment system that requires players to remove the limbs of the horrific Necromorphs instead of simply blindly shooting them.

Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! (PS4, PS5)

Unlike the other two games mentioned here, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is a visual novel. So don’t expect any fast-paced action. Rather, most of the gameplay loop will revolve around static 2D images with conversations, along with the occasional option for players to make a conversational choice. The over-arching idea is that players will need to make the right choice to charm their crush. It may seem simple, but the game is anything but that. Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is pretty much the poster child of subverting expectations and playing with the player as much as the player plays the game. No wonder the PS Store lists the game as a Psychological Horror title.
