Should you buy the iQOO Z9s?
The iQOO Z9s is a slightly toned-down version of the iQOO Z9s Pro but is still a worthy contender in the under Rs 20,000 price segment.
For the price, you get a premium 120Hz AMOLED display that offers a vivid viewing experience, punchy colours and deeper blacks. This will cater to those who are into gaming or media consumption. The phone runs on the latest Android 14 OS and the company is promising 2 OS upgrades. This means the phone is future-proof.
The 4nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset is quite good and can handle your everyday tasks with ease. We haven’t noticed any major lags or stutters in the UI with prolonged usage. The chipset is also seen on the CMF Phone 1, which has the advantage of a unique modular design. We get a large 5,500mAh battery on the iQOO phone, which should last more than one day with moderate usage and there’s 44W fast charging to quickly juice up. An added bonus is a bundled charger in the box.
iQOO is touting the phone as the slimmest curved-screen phone in the segment with just 7.49mm in thickness. There is an IP64 rating for water resistance. The phone features a 50MP main camera with OIS support. This means the videos will be shake-free. However, the secondary sensor is just a 2MP unit. Our iQOO Z9s review will talk more about the camera performance.
