POCO Pad 5G has launched in India as the first tablet from the Xiaomi sub-brand. This is the first tablet from POCO and it was launched globally this May. It’s a 5G tablet with a large 12.1-inch display, a 10,000mAh battery, 8MP cameras, and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. The POCO Pad 5G also runs Xiaomi HyperOS with Android 14 out of the box.
POCO Pad 5G price in India, availability
- POCO Pad 5G price in India starts at Rs 22,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It comes in another variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and this one costs Rs 24,999.
- The first sale for the POCO Pad 5G in India will take place on August 27th at 12pm via Flipkart. The brand is offering an instant discount of Rs 3,000 on SBI, HDFC, and ICICI bank cards. Students can get an additional Rs 1,000 discount on the tablet.
- The first 1,500 customers will get a free 1-year Times Prime membership and a free 6-month subscription to MS Office 365 with the POCO Pad 5G. You also get no-cost EMIs with all leading banks for 3 and 6 months.
- The POCO Pad 5G comes in two colour options: Pistachio Green and Cobalt Blue.
POCO Pad 5G specifications
POCO Pad 5G features a 12.1-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels resolution) display with a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. It has Dolby Vision for an enhanced content viewing experience and TÜV Rheinland for low blue light and flicker-free viewing. Under the hood of the tablet runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. You can expand the storage up to 1.5TB via a microSD card.
In the photography department, the POCO Pad 5G sports an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The tablet supports video recording at 1080p (FHD) and 720p (HD), both at 30 frames per second (fps). With the POCO Pad 5G, you get a 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
On the software front, the POCO Pad 5G runs Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IP52 rating for water and dust resistance, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection with the POCO Pad 5G.
It’s worth mentioning that the POCO Pad 5G shares the same specifications as the Redmi Pad Pro 5G. The former is more affordable though as the Redmi tablet starts at Rs 24,999 in India. Even the design appears to be the same on both tablets. It’s a common practice for Xiaomi to launch rebranded products under POCO but with these tablets there are no noticeable differences.
