POCO F7 India launch nearing as device clears BIS; POCO X7 moniker confirmed | Tech Tips
POCO seems to be readying its next batch of F and X-series phones, the POCO F7 and POCO X7. These are expected to launch in global marketing, including India soon. Ahead of the announcement, the vanilla POCO F7 has now bagged the BIS certification, suggesting the launch in India could be imminent.
On the other hand, the POCO X7 appeared on Thailand’s NBTC platform. The listing reveals some key details of the phone. The POCO F-series is the brand’s premium offering, while the POCO X-series is the mid-range segment.
POCO F7 on BIS
- The BIS certification, as spotted by MySmartPrice, reveals the model number 2412DPC0AI. The ‘I’ at the end could be referring to the Indian model.
- The GSMA database listing of the same model number previously confirmed the POCO F7 marketing name.
- The listing doesn’t reveal any hardware specifications, but the POCO F7 will arrive as a successor to the POCO F6 from earlier this year.
- The handset was earlier spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification, revealing support for NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G connectivity.
The POCO F7 is speculated to arrive as a rebrand of the alleged Redmi Turbo 4. This is considering the Redmi Turbo 3 debuted as POCO F6 in India. The Redmi Turbo 4 recently secured 3C certification with 90W fast charging.
The handset is tipped to feature a 1.5K display, MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset (compared to Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 on the predecessor), and over a 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging.
POCO X7 appears on NBTC
- The NBTC certification confirms the marketing name: POCO X7 and the model number 24095PCADG. The ‘G’ at the end could be referring to global.
- The certification shows the POCO X7 will support NR (5G), LTE, WCDMA, and GSM connectivity options.
The POCO X7 will arrive as a successor to the POCO X6. The handset is tipped to get the same camera setup as the Redmi Note 14 Pro China variant. If true, the phone may feature a 50MP IMX882 main camera with OIS, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP OV02B10 macro camera. There could be a 20MP front camera.
If it’s indeed a rebrand of the Redmi Note 14 Pro, the POCO X7 may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset and pack a 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The POCO X6 and X6 Pro launched in India in January this year. We can expect the successors to debut around the same timeline, if not a bit sooner.
