Should you buy the POCO F6?

POCO F6 can be your primary choice under Rs 30,000 if your main requirement is performance over top-end cameras and a premium design. It is the only phone with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset in this segment.

The POCO F6 feels like a reasonable upgrade to the F5, maintaining the current trends. The smartphone’s performance is among the best, and the display quality is impressive, though I wish it featured an LTPO panel. Despite this, the cameras are good for a gaming-focused device, and both battery life and charging speeds are respectable, 91mobiles said in the POCO F6 review.

The POCO F6 comes with a 1.5K AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. The picture quality is quite impressive with punchy blacks and vivid colours. The panel is well-optimised for immersive media consumption and gaming experience. There is support for Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ as well. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer ensures the display doesn’t get scratched or break easily.

As said, the POCO F6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and is easily the most powerful chipset in the segment. It has scored over 15 lakh points in the AnTuTu benchmark platform. There is a 5000mAh battery, which is slightly less than the 5,500mAh cells in the competition like the OnePlus Nord 4. The phone can last one entire day with moderate usage. We get 90W fast charging on board to quickly juice up the battery.

However, the cameras on the POCO F6 are not as great as the competition. Although there is OIS support, the resulting images are not very sharp. Design-wise, the POCO F6 looks very identical to the predecessor. We get a plastic unibody design with flat edges and individual camera rings on the back. The design looks quite bland but in the end, it is subjective. The UI is also filled with a lot of pre-installed applications. Although most of them are removable, it doesn’t leave a very clean impression at first glance.

So, if performance is your main requirement, the POCO F6 is a very good option, especially at the discounted price.
