OPPO Find N5 confirmed to come with 50W wireless charging | Tech Tips
OPPO’s Head of Find Series, Zhou Yibao has started dropping teasers of the Find N5 foldable phone on microblogging platform Weibo. Yesterday, the Find N5’s IP rating and thinness was revealed. Today, the executive has officially confirmed that the OPPO Find N5 will come with support for wireless charging. With the latest teaser and a lot more to be revealed ahead, the foldable phone seems to be arriving with plenty of significant upgrades compared to its predecessor.
OPPO Find N5 wireless charging speed confirmed
- The OPPO Find N5 is confirmed to come with support for wireless charging.
- The speed will max out at 50W.
- This will pit it against the Huawei Mate X6 and Honor Magic V3 that also support the same charging speed wirelessly.
- However, the Find N5 could be the first thinnest foldable in the world to come with the fastest wireless charging, especially in markets where the Mate X6 and Magic V3 are not available.
- The speeds on the Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold are limited to 15W and 7.5W respectively.
- Yibao says that the device will also be compatible with in-car wireless charging.
- Replying to a comment on the post, the executive also confirmed that the Find N5 will support reverse wireless charging feature to top up compatible devices. However, the speed remains unknown.
- Regardless, the inclusion of wireless charging on the Find N5 is a significant upgrade as its predecessor lacked support.
Since the OPPO Find N5 is touted to be the thinnest foldable in the world, it’s likely that the device will measure less than 4.4mm and 9.4mm in its folded and unfolded state as the record is currently held by Honor Magic V3. The device is also confirmed to be IPX9 certified and come with underwater photography mode. Internally, it will reportedly be powered by a 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB RAM and support 80W wired charging.
The OPPO Find N5 is slated to launch in China next month, probably once the Spring Festival concludes in the country. It will make its way to the global shores as a rebranded OnePlus Open 2. To recall, the Find N3/OnePlus Open were announced at a starting price tag of CNY 9,999 (~Rs 1,45,395)/Rs 1,39,999.
