OnePlus 13R chipset confirmed ahead of India launch | Tech Tips

OnePlus 13R is confirmed to debut in India on January 7th alongside the OnePlus 13 and a new colourway for the OnePlus Buds Pro 3. There is a dedicated microsite on Amazon, which already revealed the battery capacity and some key details of the phone. Now, the listing is updated to confirm the chipset as well. 

OnePlus R-series is the brand’s budget flagship model that comes with the previous generation Snapdragon 8-series chipset and value-for-money hardware.

OnePlus 13R processor

• OnePlus 13R is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, as rumoured earlier. For context, OnePlus 12R shipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

• The Amazon listing mentions the phone will be bundled with OnePlus AI features like AI Notes, AI Cleanup, AI Imaging power, Intelligent Search, and more.
• OnePlus 13R is confirmed to feature a 6000mAh battery with SuperVOOC fast charging. This is an upgrade from a 5500mAh cell on the predecessor.
• As a part of the worry-free solution, OnePlus will be offering a lifetime warranty for the display.
• The Amazon listing shows the OnePlus 13R in Nebula Noir and Astral Trial colours.
• The design of the phone has been changed quite a bit from its predecessor. We see a boxy chassis with rounded corners. There is a circular camera module aligned towards the left edge and this houses triple cameras and an LED flash.
• The front is occupied by a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter. The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right edge, while the alert slider is present on the left. 

OnePlus 13R specifications (expected)

As for the rest of the hardware, 91mobiles exclusively shared the specifications of the OnePlus 13R recently.

• Display:6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 1264 × 2780 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This is the same screen size as the OnePlus 12R.
• Cameras: 50MP primary camera, an 8MP sensor, and a 50MP lens. The third sensor sees an upgrade from a 2MP unit on the 12R.
• The phone might house a 16MP front-facing camera like the predecessor.
• Battery: The OnePlus 13R may get a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
• OS: Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 custom skin out of the box.

OnePlus 13R will arrive as a successor to the OnePlus 12R, which debuted in India in January this year at a starting price of Rs 39,999. We can speculate the OnePlus 13R to be made available around the same segment. The OnePlus 13R should be available for purchase via Amazon and the OnePlus website post-launch.
