OnePlus 13 is expected to launch later this month in China as a successor to the OnePlus 12 from last year. The display hardware of the phone is already confirmed and we’re pretty sure it will feature the latest Snapdragon flagship chipset. Now, OnePlus’ Li Jie Louis on Weibo teased the OnePlus 13 may come with magnetic wireless charging support.

OnePlus 13 is the brand’s flagship lineup and will be arriving with top-of-the-line hardware. The phone will be debuting in China first and gradually expand to other markets, including India.

OnePlus 13 may get magnetic wireless charging

• Going into the story, a OnePlus fan asked Li Jie Louis whether the bamboo cases (which were quite popular during early OnePlus phones) would be returning with the OnePlus 13.
• The executive made it clear that the wooden cases are not returning as there is “no plan for this CMF” for the time being.
• However, the wood grain cases for the OnePlus 13, according to  Li Jie feel “very good.”
• What makes this interesting is that he revealed that the cases include a “magnetic suction function,” hinting that the OnePlus 13 may come with magnetic wireless charging, probably something similar to Apple’s MagSafe.

• Though the OnePlus 12 supports wireless charging, this is the first time a OnePlus phone is getting a magnetic charging feature on board.
• OnePlus’ sister brand, OPPO is expected to introduce a magnetic charging feature with the Find X8 series.
• To that extent, the brand is also reportedly working on bringing a range of accessories like the power bank. This should give the OnePlus 13 buyers a chance to foray into that ecosystem.

OnePlus 13: what we know so far

• Display: The OnePlus 13 is expected to come with a 6.82-inch 2K BOE 10-bit LTPO micro-curved display. While the display size is the same as the OnePlus 12, the panel used is upgraded from BOE X1.
• Processor: The phone could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset paired with Adreno GPU.
• RAM/Storage: Up to 24GB RAM and 512GB storage option.
• Cameras: The OnePlus 13 could feature a 50MP Sony LYT808 main sensor, a 50MP LYT600 periscope sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
• Battery: The phone might house a 6000mAh+ battery with 100W fast charging support.
