One UI 7.0 update tipped to focus on aesthetics, beta release delayed indefinitely | Tech Tips

Samsung flagship users have been eagerly awaiting the release of the One UI 7.0 beta update based on Android 15. This is considering the leaks have revealed quite a lot of interesting new features and improvements that are in the offing. It is believed to be one of the biggest OS releases for Samsung in years. Now, tipster Ice Universe claims that One UI 7.0 will be an aesthetic update, while One UI 7.1 will bring new features and improvements. 

In another leak, X user Chun Bhai, who has leaked the features of the One UI 7.0 claimed that the beta rollout was delayed indefinitely last week.

One UI 7.0 will be all about aesthetics

• Going into details, Ice Universe claims that One UI 7.0 will focus on animations and system fluency.
• This aligns with a recent report, which also said the new OS release will bring ultra-smooth animations. This should enhance the user experience while using the phone.
• Furthermore, Ice Universe says that One UI 7.1 would bring more functions since this is an important part of the Galaxy S25.

• What this could mean is that One UI 7.0 will focus on aesthetics, while One UI 7.1 will add more new features to the UI. 
• Samsung might use these features as a selling point of the Galaxy S25 series in 2025 much like how it is extensively promoting the new One UI 6.1.1 AI features for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6.

One UI 7.0 is expected to bring new icons to Samsung’s set of apps like Internet, Gallery, Phone, Camera and others. We might see Samsung’s take on Dynamic Island with live activities. One UI 7.0 is expected to bring a change to the notification tray and Quick Panel. These could be separated in One UI 7.

One UI 7.0 delayed indefinitely

One UI 7.0 beta was originally expected to be out towards the end of July but that didn’t happen. Twitter user Chun Bhai says the beta rollout was delayed indefinitely last week and there are low chances of it hitting the first batch of flagships this month. The reason behind this may not be because of bugs or quality but could be because of the slow rollout of the One UI 6.1.1 build, which debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 foldables.

Historically, Samsung’s One UI x.1.1 update is only released to foldables and tablets but this time, possibly because of the new AI features, the One UI 6.1.1 update is reportedly hitting older top-end S-series flagships as well. Due to this reported inclusion, Samsung appears to be taking its time to roll out the One UI 6.1.1 and this delay might be indirectly pushing the One UI 7.0 beta release as well.
