About a month after the beta release, Nothing Phone (1) finally gets the stable Nothing OS 3.0 update. The 3.0 version is based on Android 15 and brings several new features like shared widgets, AI-powered Smart Drawer, more customisation and UI design changes. Nothing OS 3.0 features on Phone (1)

• On supported Nothing devices, widgets like the Photo Widget can be shared between multiple users. This means you and your loved ones could share and see the same widget on your device’s screen. Nothing emphasises this is in the early stage and could have bugs. 
• Nothing OS 3.0 brings an AI-powered Smart Drawer that auto-categorises apps and displays the most-used ones on top of the drawer. You can also pin your favourite apps at the top.
• You can customise the lockscreen by long-pressing on the lock screen, choosing from the new clock face styles and placing more widgets.
• For enhanced multitasking, apps in pop-up view can be resized and moved to any part of the screen. Even the incoming notifications can be opened in the pop-up view by enabling the feature under Settings > Special features > Pop-up view.
• The new OS also brings UI refinements like dot animation for fingerprint unlocking, a more configurable Quick Settings panel, a larger widget library, and data-richer UI elements like Network & Internet and Bluetooth.
• Unused apps can be auto-archived to save precious storage space.
• Screen recording can be limited to just a portion of the screen. This is called Partial Screen Recording and can help you hide sensitive information.
• More apps get the predictive back gesture. 

How to install Nothing OS 3.0 on Phone (1)

Before you proceed, please ensure the device has enough storage and charge and a stable internet connection. Also, make sure you have a backup of the device data.

Nothing says the device may have temporary overheating and increased power consumption after the update.

So, if you are fine with it, proceed:

Step 1: Open Nothing Phone’s Settings page.

Step 2: Tap on System.

Step 3: Choose the System Update option. The device will check for updates and if Nothing OS 3.0 version is available for your device, you can download it and during the installation process, the device may reboot.
