Nothing Phone (2a) is now receiving Nothing OS 3.0 second open beta update based on Android 15. The company doesn’t look to be deviating from the planned timeline. The new update brings some notable improvements and Nothing OS exclusive features like new Shared Widgets and certain improvements to the Quick Settings menu. • Shared Widgets that allows the users to interact with each other through widgets. 
• However, the functionality, for the moment, looks to be basic as only square Photo Widgets can be shared. The company notes this should be expanded with future updates.

• The update is also said to improve the user experience when interacting with the ring tile within the Quick Settings page.
• The Smart Drawer is getting better with the update and will be more accurate when organising apps. However, the company warns that it might take some additional minutes to categorise the new apps.
• There’s also an ‘auto-sort’ feature that will automatically organise the apps and folders for you based on your usage habits.
• The Nothing OS 3.0 second beta update also brings camera improvements. The ‘Ultra HDR’ mode is getting enhanced brightness, the portrait mode is better optimised, and the stability while switching between modes is also improved.
• The update brings ‘prioritisation of frequently used apps’ and this will keep them optimised for quick use. The feature relies on AI.
• For gamers, the popular mobile game PUBG now supports 90fp for smoother gameplay.

The Nothing OS 3.0 second beta update for Nothing Phone (2a) brings bug fixes and general stability improvements. If you are already a beta user, you should see the update in the software section of system settings. The company says the build number should be Pacman-V3.0-240923-2135. Since this is a beta release, the OS might not be as smooth as a stable build and there could bugs, warns Nothing.

The company notes the Nothing Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus and CMF Phone 1 users will get the Nothing OS 3.0 open beta release in December.
