New Nothing smartphone teased again, may feature a transparent design | Tech Tips
Nothing has started teasing the launch of its new smartphone officially. A couple of days ago, it posted a pixellated image of the fire-type Pokemon Arcanine and later tweeted from the new device for the first time. It could be the brand’s “landmark smartphone” that was mentioned in the leaked email of the CEO Carl Pei. While we wait to hear more, Nothing is out with another teaser and this time it’s the design sketch.
New Nothing phone teaser
- The new teaser image posted by Nothing looks to be the design sketch of the upcoming new smartphone.
- The image appears to be teasing the transparent back panel design of the phone as it seems to be showing screws and other internal components.

- The design sketch doesn’t seem to be showing the entire rear panel so it’s not clear whether it will retain the company’s signature Glyph lights.
- It is a bit hard to pinpoint the exact identity of the new device at the moment from the teaser image.
- Recently, the Nothing A059 and A059P bagged the BIS certification and these are believed to be the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus. The phones are said to have codenames ‘asteroids‘ and ‘asteroids Plus‘
- Besides these, a new CMF-branded phone was also spotted on the IMEI database with the model number Nothing A001. It is speculated to be the CMF Phone 2. A new possible Nothing device with model number 24111 was spotted on the FCC.
- There are chances the teaser image could belong to either of them but can’t be said for certain just yet.
- Nothing co-founder, Akis Evangelidis confirmed the new product is launching soon but hasn’t revealed the exact date yet.
The leaked email from the CEO adds that Nothing Phone (3) will make its debut this year and is claimed to introduce “breakthrough innovations” in the user interface and it will take the first steps towards an AI-powered platform.
Within the same email, the top executive notes that “first up in Q1 this year will be the launch of a landmark phone.” This suggests that the phone in the teaser images may not be the Nothing Phone (3) but a different phone. Since the teasers have started coming, we expect the brand to reveal its identity in the next few days.
