Should you buy the Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra?

The Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra are a generation-old foldable phones on the market. However, this shouldn’t stop you from considering them if want phones with a unique form factor. These are some of the cheapest foldables on the market from a known brand. The software experience is clean without any bloatware or ads and the build quality is also sleek and rigid.

The Ultra model can be on your wishlist as it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is decent for day-to-day performance and tasks like checking emails, browsing, taking pictures and others. There is also a 3.6-inch second screen on the back, which is a sweet little addition and is also functional for some tasks like controlling music, checking notifications and others. However, there are some compromises in the battery department as we get just a 3,800mAh battery and 30W fast charging.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is a little old, especially in the Rs 35,000 segment where we have models with Snapdragon 8-series SoCs, which are way powerful and are backed by AI features as well. We get a 64MP primary camera on the back, a 32MP shooter on the front, and a 1.47-inch secondary screen on the back panel. We get better specifications on the competition for the price.

All said and done, if you strictly want a foldable phone and are on a budget and can’t afford Samsung foldables, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is a pretty good option and should hold up well. But for the rest, the OnePlus 12R, iQOO 12, OnePlus Nord 4, and iQOO Neo 9 Pro are better alternatives.
