Motorola Edge 50 Neo, Moto G35 5G India launch imminent as phones receive BIS | Tech Tips

Amidst the teasers of the Motorola Razr 50 India launch, the company is ready to announce two new phones: the Motorola Edge 50 Neo and Moto G35. These handsets have now been spotted on the BIS and GCF certifications and reveal some key details. This comes after the 91mobiles exclusively shared the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is in the works and revealed the colour and RAM options.

Motorola Edge 50 Neo and Moto G35 model numbers revealed

• The BIS certification, as spotted by MySmartPrice, reveals the Motorola Edge 50 Neo will have the model number XT2409-3. The handset succeeds the Motorola Edge 40 Neo.
• Meanwhile, the Moto G35 has the model number XT2433-3.
• The BIS certification hints that the India launch of the phones might be inching close and we might see an announcement shortly.
• The global variants of the Edge 50 Neo have been spotted on the Global Certification Forum with the model numbers XT2409-1 and XT2409-2.
• Besides the model numbers, not much else is revealed about the phones at the moment. 

What do we know about the Motorola Edge 50 Neo and Moto G35

Motorola Edge 50 Neo

A report revealed the phone would come in two models: 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. The handset could be available in Gray, Blue, Poinciana, and Milk colour options. These are said to be Pantone-certified.

The Motorola S50, which appeared on TENAA recently, is believed to debut globally as Edge 50 Neo. The handset sports a 6.36-inch display, as per the listing and this will be an FHD+ OLED panel with a 1200 x 2670 pixels resolution. For context, the Edge 40 Neo has a slightly bigger 6.5-inch screen, which is also pOLED.

The handset could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC compared to the Dimensity 7030 on the Edge 40 Neo. The chipset might be paired with 8GB/ 10GB/ 12GB/ 16GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage variants.

The TENAA listing shows the handset will have a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. The telephoto sensor will be a new addition to the phone over the predecessor. There could be a 32MP sensor on the front same as the Edge 40 Neo.

The Motorola S50 could pack a 4,310mAh battery. This is a downgrade from the 5000mAh cell on the Edge 40 Neo. The phone is likely to weigh 172 grams and measure 154.1×71.2×8.1mm.

Moto G35

The Moto G35 global variant has been spotted on the FCC, Geekbench, TUV, EUT, EEC, IMEI, and UL Demko listings. The latter listing reveals there will be a 4,850mAh cell on board (could be promoted as 5,000mAh) and the TUV platform confirms the phone will have 20W fast charging support. This is similar to the Moto G34. The Geekbench listing showed the phone has managed to score 743 points in the single-core and 2,363 in the multi-core tests.

The Moto G35 will pack 8GB RAM and boot Android 14 OS out of the box. The phone could be powered by the Unisoc T760 chipset paired with Mali G57 GPU. For comparison, the Moto G34 came with a Snapdragon 695 SoC on board.
