itel Smart Ring launching soon, reveals SDPPI certification; app listed on Play Store | Tech Tips
After smartwatches and earphones, smartphone brands are moving to a new category, viz., Smart Rings. itel also appears to be venturing into this space. 91mobiles has spotted itel Smart Ring on Indonesian Telecom SDPPI (Directorate General of Resources and Equipment Standardization for Post and Informatics) and its associated app on the Play Store.
itel Smart Ring SDPPI listing
- The itel Smart Ring is listed on SDPPI with certificate number: 105018/SDPPI/2024
- Since itel’s parent company Transition is the applicant for this certification, we surmise other Transition brands like Tecno and Infinix could also bring their rings down the line.
- The listing doesn’t reveal any other details. We don’t have specifics on the ring’s Indian availability either.
However, based on itel Ring app’s page on Play Store, we figure the device will have Android support and could have the following features:
itel Smart Ring features
- itel Smart Ring could offer you a Physical Recovery score that could give you an idea about your body’s recovery and strength level to resume physical activity. This score considers calories consumed (Kcals) and sleep duration (in hours and minutes).
- The Smart Ring app includes specially curated music to help you sleep. It would be nice if we could control this music playback and volume from the ring itself.

- The ring will keep a log of steps taken, distance covered, calories consumed and hours of sleep taken.
- It will support different activity modes like walking, running, cycling, and more.
- The app will help you control the gestures and enable/disable automatic heart rate detection (the auto feature can be useful but a battery killer).
This is just the initial release of the app, and we suppose more features could be added in the future.
Since itel is known for releasing budget-friendly products, this could also have an affordable price tag. In the budget segment, we already have some options like the boAt Smart Ring Active (Rs 3,799) and Pebble Iris Smart Ring (Rs 4,999).
