iQOO 13 tipped to feature light strip design on the back panel | Tech Tips

The new batch of Android flagships for 2024-25 from brands like OnePlus, iQOO, Realme, and OPPO appear to be around the final stages of development as numerous leaks about the phones are surfacing at regular intervals. The premium model coming from iQOO is the iQOO 13 and this is expected to debut in the next few months. A new leak now reveals the phone may feature a light strip on the back.

iQOO 13 might bring back this iconic design element

  • iQOO 13 is tipped to ship with a new strip light design on the back panel, according to a new leak from ‘Panda is Bald’.
  • To recall, iQOO originally offered a strip-light design on the first-generation models back in 2019 and these featured a light patch within the glass back panel for the light to pass through.

  • iQOO even offered software support to offer various shadow effects to enhance its visual appeal.
  • Now it looks like the company might be bringing this back, probably in a much refined and improved form. If true, this should add to the phone’s overall aesthetics.
  • It isn’t clear at the moment how iQOO will incorporate this into the final design but this surely is an interesting development.

What do we know about the iQOO 13 so far?

iQOO 13 will arrive as a successor to the iQOO 12 from last year and there may not be a Pro variant this time around. This means iQOO might go all out with the vanilla model. The handset could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC compared to the 8 Gen 3 of the predecessor. If rumours are to be believed, this should bring some notable performance gains. While the display size is not clear, it could get a 2K AMOLED display from BOE and have a 144Hz refresh rate.

Earlier leaks claimed the phone might house a similar camera design as on the iQOO 12 and might house a 50MP triple camera setup, including a 3x zoom sensor. For context, the predecessor came with a 50MP Omnivision OV50H sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 64MP 3x telephoto camera. The phone could house an ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor for security.

There could be a bigger capacity battery, probably around 6,000mAh cell. This might have 100W fast charging support. To recall, the iQOO 12 has a 5000mAh battery with 120W ultra-fast flash charging. We should know more details in the days to come.
