iPhone 17 Pro Max to launch with 12GB RAM, vapour chamber for heat dissipation: Kuo | Tech Tips

The iPhone 16 series launch is taking place on September 9th. It’s only a week more until we see the new iPhones but talks about next year’s lineup have surfaced online too. The iPhone 17 series will launch in 2025 but there’s already some information about what to expect from these devices. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has now revealed new details about the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the most premium and expensive model in the series. 

iPhone 17 Pro Max to feature 12GB RAM, vapour chamber

• Kuo on X revealed new details about the iPhone 17 Pro Max starting with the RAM capacity. According to Kuo, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature 12GB of RAM. It will also be the only model in the series with this RAM capacity. 
• The ultra-thin iPhone that’s rumoured along with the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone SE4 will all have 8GB of RAM. 
• Kuo adds that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be equipped with an upgraded cooling system with vapour chamber (VC) technology and graphite sheets. So this iPhone should offer better heat dissipation than the others. 
• The iPhone 17 Pro Max’s major selling point will reportedly be AI capabilities. Apple has added on-device AI features to iOS 18, which will be released next month.

Among the 2025 new iPhone models, only the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature the following specifications:

Based on this leak, we can expect some exclusive treatment for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. There isn’t anything else revealed about the Pro Max but there have been details leaked about the iPhone 17 lineup. Among the upgrades planned are a 24MP front camera and a six-piece lens on the iPhone 17 series. It isn’t clear though if the entire iPhone 17 lineup will feature this camera or only select models. 

Kuo’s latest details also add more to the speculation of a thin iPhone 17 model dubbed ‘iPhone 17 Air’ or ‘iPhone 17 Slim’. It will replace the iPhone 17 Plus and as the name suggests, will come in a thin design and body. We should hear more details about the iPhone 17 lineup soon.
