Infinix Hot 50 4G with MediaTek Helio G100 SoC, brighter display launched silently: check specs | Tech Tips

Highlights
  • The MediaTek Helio G100chipset  inside the Hot 50 4G is similar to the Helio G99.
  • Infinix Hot 50 4G has a brighter and higher resolution display than the 5G model.
  • The phone comes with a charger, USB-C cable, earphones, screen guard, and a case in the box.

Infinix has silently debuted the Hot 50 4G. That 4G suffix differentiates it from the Hot 50 5G model, which launched in India in early September. Other differences between the two phones include an Helio G100 processor (versus Dimensity 6300 SoC on the 5G model), an FHD+ display (versus an HD panel on the 5G variant), and a 50MP primary camera (versus a 48MP main camera on the 5G edition). There are more distinctions between the two siblings.

Infinix Hot 50 4G price, availability

Although Infinix is yet to officially announce the price on its website, the details are out on a Ukrainian website. As per it, the Hot 50 4G price is UAH 6,800 (about Rs 13,789.77).

Infinix Hot 50 4G design

Infinix Hot 50 4G (X6882) is identical to the 5G model. The 4G version comes in Sleek Black, Sage Green, and Titanium Grey options. The former two are available in the 5G version too.

It has flat sides with chamfered edges. The volume rocker and power button (which doubles as a fingerprint reader) are on the right side. The phone’s just 7.7mm thick.

On the bottom, you get a USB-C (2.0) port, speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

There is a vertical camera stack on the back with three lens cutouts (more on this later).

Infinix Hot 50 4G specifications, features

  • Display: Infinix Hot 50 4G has a 6.78-inch LCD display that has FHD+ resolution, up to 800 nits typical brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, Always-On mode, and a TuV Rheinland-rated blue-light filter.
  • Processor: Under the hood, the phone has a Helio G100 SoC (similar to Helio G99 but with a 200MP camera support). It’s a 6nm chipset as the Dimensity 6300 SoC on the 5G model. The core structure is also similar but has a slightly slower performance core.
  • Memory: The phone is available in 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB UFS storage. There is support for up to 2TB storage expansion using a microSD card.
  • Battery: A 5,000mAh call is keeping the phone on. You can charge it using an 18W charger in the box. The phone is said to retain at least 80 percent of its capacity after four years of charging.
  • Rear cameras: Even though there are 3 lens cutouts, only the main 50MP sensor details are mentioned. The sensor size is 1/2.76-inches and f/1.6 aperture. Meanwhile, the 48MP main camera on the Hot 50 5G model is a 1/2.0-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture. The Hot 50 4G supports 2K videos at 30 fps.
  • Front camera: It has an 8MP selfie snapper, the same as the 4G model.

Infinix Hot 50 4G alternatives
