Honor X5B 4G receives IMDA and NBTC certifications, launch imminent | Tech Tips

Honor seems to be working on a new smartphone dubbed the Honor X5B and this may be a 4G LTE offering, going against the trend of 5G models even in the budget segment. Suggesting its imminent launch, the new Honor phone has been spotted on the IMDA and NBTC certification platforms. This reveals the model number of the phone and the latter confirms the marketing name.

Honor X-series is usually placed in the premium mid-range segment, with models ranging from Honor X6b, Honor X7b, Honor X8b, and Honor X9b models. These models sit below the Honor numbered series. Besides the 4G model, there are chances the brand may also introduce the Honor X5B 5G version as well.

Honor X5B launch could be imminent

• The Honor X5B NBTC listing, as spotted by The TechOutlook, confirms the marketing name of the phone and the model number GFY-LX2.
• The certification reveals the handset will come with just LTE connectivity, which should mean that we are looking at a budget offering.

• The same Honor phone was also spotted on the IMDA certification. This only reveals the phone would come with Bluetooth and WLAN support. 
• Beyond these, not much else is known about the Honor X5B phone at the moment. This is also the first time we’re seeing the phone surface online so more details are awaited.

The other Honor X series phone that is available in India is the Honor X9b, which is a mid-range model that is priced under Rs 20,000. The company is touting it to be India’s first ultra-bounce anti-drop resistant phone. The phone features a large 108MP camera, a Snapdragon processor, and a larger 5,880mAh battery. The Honor X9b is currently listed at Rs 19,999 on Amazon in India.
