HONOR 200 series gets OTA update in India with AI features | Tech Tips

HTech India’s new update for Honor 200 Series users in the country is bringing some much-awaited features. The OTA, dubbed MR3, will be available for Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro devices. These phones launched with MagicOS 8 based on Android 14 out of the box, and the recent update puts it on par with certain flagship devices. Here’s all that’s new.

HONOR 200 Series MR3 OTA update bring Circle to Search and more

Honor 200 series customers in India will get an update for their MagicOS 8-powered devices by October 31st. This MR3 update is bringing these three new features to the phones:

1. Circle to Search: Google’s flagship AI feature for Android devices is finally coming to midrange devices. First debuted with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, Circle to Search is finally rolling out to devices from other brands. Honor is among the first Chinese companies to introduce this AI functionality to its premium midrange devices. All you need to do is hold the home button or navigation bar to invoke it and then search or translate the text or images on the screen.
2. Better screen recording: With the MR3 update, Honor 200 series users can now adjust the resolution of their screen recording between three options: 480P, 720P and 1080P. Further, they can also now record system sounds for a convenient screen recording experience.
3. The new update also brings the October security patch by Google to these devices, allowing them to be up to date in terms of security and reliability.

If you are an Honor 200 series, all you need to do is wait till tomorrow or manually check for updates under the ‘System & Updates’ section in the settings app of MagicOS 8. To recall, the Honor 200 series launched in India this year in the month of July at a starting price tag of Rs. 34,999 with unique designs and the latest Snapdragon processors. Meanwhile, in its domestic market, China, HONOR is already preparing to introduce its advanced YOYO AI with MagicOS 9.
