HMD Moon Knight tipped to launch as flagship phone
- Going into details, the HMD Moon Knight is said to be in the works with the model number “TA-1691”.
- The handset will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which puts it under the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4/ Elite SoC.
- The device in question could feature an FHD+ pOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz.
- The phone is said to feature a quad camera on the back, which makes us curious to know if there’s a telephoto sensor in the mix as well.
- The post on X also mentions the phone would have a POGO Pin connector, which means there could be support for modular accessories like the HMD Fusion.
- Other features on board could include 5G support, stereo speakers, and an aluminium frame.
While the details of the specifications are under wraps, the source promises to reveal renders and specifications very soon. HMD’s last attempt at flagship was the Nokia 9 PureView which debuted back in early 2019. This was an instant head turner with its unique 5-camera setup on the back. All five cameras took photos at once and the phone processed all the images to produce an improved final picture.
In the end, this turned out to be all hype on paper only and didn’t work as expected in reality. The phone wasn’t well received and there could be many reasons. We just hope things will be different this time with the upcoming HMD Moon Knight flagship and the hardware is put to proper use, especially considering the competition is racing ahead.
