Instagram has announced a new feature that lets you add music to your profile. This feature has been around for some time and it looks like Instagram has now rolled it out globally to all users. You can add any song available on Instagram and it will be visible to everyone who visits your profile. 

How to add music to your Instagram profile 

• Open your Instagram profile and select ‘Edit profile’. 
• Scroll down and select ‘Add music to your profile’. 
• Tap on ‘Pick a song for your profile’.
• You’ll find a list of songs under the ‘For You’ section and another ‘Browse’ section.
• You can select from the list of songs available or you can search for one that you like.
• Select the song and choose the part of the song that you want. You can choose 30 seconds of the song. 

Once the song is selected, it will appear in your profile below your bio and links. Anyone who visits your profile will see it and can press the play button to listen to the song. When you tap on the song, a pop-up menu will appear with actions to share, save, and use the audio. You can even add the song to your Spotify library by linking the account on Instagram. The song will stay on your profile until you change it or remove it.

The new feature gives users another way to express themselves on Instagram. This is the latest profile addition after pronouns and links. 

Instagram has been making the most of its music feature. It recently added the ability to add up to 20 tracks to a single reel. It also introduced the ‘Add Yours’ music sticker, and you can now add music to carousel posts with both photos and videos.
