At the Made by Google event on Tuesday, Google announced its second-gen folding phone, called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold alongside the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The change is not just in the naming scheme but also in the overall appearance of the device. Internally though, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has some similar specifications and features to its predecessor. More interestingly, this is the first foldable phone from Google to launch in India. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold price in India, sale
Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at Rs 1,72,999. Google hasn’t revealed the Indian sale date. However, we know it will be available in India through Flipkart.com, Croma, and Reliance Digital. You can buy the folding phone in Obsidian (grey) and Porcelain (off-white) colours.
Its predecessor, the Google Pixel Fold hadn’t launched in India. So, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the first Google foldable in India.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: what’s new
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is taller, narrower, slimmer, and lighter than the Pixel Fold. There is Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and back (while the former had only a Victus shield), and an aerospace-grade aluminium alloy frame. The newcomer also looks new thanks to the pronounced rear camera island.
The device is probably lighter because it packs a smaller 4,650mAh battery (while the Pixel Fold had a 4,821mAh cell). It supports 45W wired charging but you’ll have to buy the adapter separately.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a 6.3-inch external display and an 8-inch internal display. Both are LTPO panels allowing adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Both of their peak brightness has also increased to 2,700 nits (while the Pixel Fold’s cover screen comes with 1,550 nits (peak) and the main display features 1,450 nits (peak). They also have higher pixel density which means sharper and more detailed visuals.
Rest, the phone has a new Tensor G4 SoC, newer connectivity options (Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, UWB), some higher resolution cameras, Emergency SOS, Spatial Audio, 7 years of Android OS upgrade promise, Pixel-exclusive Google AI features (like Add Me, Pixel Screenshot, and Reimagine), free Google VPN and 1-year of Google One AI Premium plan (including Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Gmail and Docs, and 2 TB of Cloud Storage).
