Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta for CMF Phone 1

  • The release of the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta for CMF Phone 1 was announced on its community forums
  • Those interested in updating must ensure that their device is running on Nothing OS 2.6 version with the build number Tetris-U2.6-241021-2030 / Tetris-U2.6-241125-2107.
  • There’s an APK file of the open beta in the announcement post on the forum.
  • Users need to install it from the downloads folder and then navigate to Settings > System > Update to Beta version.
  • This will start the update process on the device.

Nothing cautions users to take a backup of their data as the beta version may interfere with the data and require a factory reset. The brand also warns that there is no rollback option for the CMF Phone 1 once you update to the Nothing OS 3.0 open beta. This means that you can’t return back to a stable OS version.

Nothing says that a rollback package will be released at a later date. Hence, it makes sense to wait for the official stable release of the software instead of installing the beta version on the CMF Phone 1 especially if it’s your daily driver.
