ASUS Zenfone 12 spotted on Bluetooth SIG listing, could be ‘Ultra’ model | Tech Tips

The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra has been spotted online again suggesting its imminent launch. The smartphone was earlier spotted on the IMEI database and now 91mobiles has found its Bluetooth SIG listing along with the ROG Phone 9 lineup. Since it’s the same model number, it’s speculated that this device is the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra.

• 91mobiles has spotted a new Zenfone 12 model on the Bluetooth SIG website with the model number ASUSAI2501A. 
• This smartphone is believed to be the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra according to a report about its IMEI listing recently. 
• ASUS launched only the Zenfone 11 Ultra this year so it’s most likely that this model will be getting an upgrade. 
• The new ASUS phone was spotted alongside a series of ROG Phone 9 models, which are launching later today. 

The Bluetooth SIG doesn’t reveal any other detail but it strongly suggests the brand is preparing to launch the phone soon. It might be a few months until we see the Zenfone 12 Ultra launch though, as its predecessor also debuted only in March this year. The launch took place after rumours about ASUS axing the Zenfone lineup but the brand quickly clarified saying it is continuing its smartphone series. 

ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra: what to expect

The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra is expected to feature similar hardware as the ROG Phone 9, which is confirmed to feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This could be true since the Zenfone 11 Ultra also launched with similar specifications as the ROG Phone 8. If so, then we can expect the new Zenfone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

The Zenfone 12 Ultra is also expected to feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ display with a 185Hz refresh rate, a 50MP + 13MP + 8MP triple rear camera setup, and a 32MP front camera. These are speculations based on the ROG Phone 9’s leaks and rumours. Once the phone debuts we should have a better idea of what to expect from the Zenfone 12 Ultra.
