ASUS ROG Phone 9 claims highest AnTuTu score ahead of today’s global launch | Tech Tips

Highlights
  • ASUS ROG Phone 9 appears to have surpassed 3 million points on AnTuTu charts.
  • The AnTuTu listing shows the phone has a 185Hz refresh rate, 24GB LPDDR5x RAM, and more.

A new ASUS phone has topped the AnTuTu scoreboard and it is believed to be the ASUS ROG Phone 9 that will debut globally today. This isn’t surprising as its predecessor the ROG Phone 8 also had the highest AnTuTu score for June 2024 rankings. So, the newcomer appears to be just following the legacy. Still, we know you’d be interested and here are the details:

  • As for other specs, the listing shows the phone is running on 24GB LPDDR5x RAM, 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, and Android 15. The phone could start with a 16GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. And the software could sport several AI features too.
  • As previously tipped, the phone is sporting a 185Hz refresh rate display too. The ROG Phone 8 has a 1Hz-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and can even go up to 165Hz while using gaming mode. The Phone 9’s 185Hz refresh rate could be a similar implementation. Besides that, the panel is said to be 6.78 inches diagonally and have an FHD+ resolution.

ASUS ROG Phone 9 series: everything else we know

  • Price: The upgraded specs could come at a higher price tag than its predecessor. The Phone 9’s 12+512GB model was listed on a Danish e-commerce website for DKK 9,838 (about Rs 1,17,879.77). The Phone 8 (16+256GB) had launched globally for $1099.99 (around Rs 91,400).
  • Design: From the renders we exclusively shared, you can see the Phone 9 doesn’t have an RGB-lit ROG symbol, but the text has the LED light effect. You could get it in Storm White and Phantom Black colours. At 227 grams and 8.9mm thickness, the thing is very comparable in dimensions and weight to its precursor.
  • Cameras: The phone is expected to ship with a 50+13+8MP triple rear camera setup and a 32MP front camera.
  • Battery: It could bear a 5,800mAh cell with 65W fast charging support.
