Apple Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 spotted on FCC, BIS ahead of its launch in 2025 | Tech Tips

Powerbeats Pro 2 is a much-awaited AirPods-rivalling pair of TWS earbuds from Apple’s sub-brand Beats. It’s been close to six years since the original Powerbeats Pro launched. Beats has already confirmed the launch of the second-gen in 2025. Well, ahead of the launch, the TWS earphones have visited the US’s FCC and India’s BIS certification websites. 91mobiles has scoured key Powerbeats 2 specs from these listings. Here, take a look:

Apple Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 specifications (from FCC)

• Powerbeats Pro 2 has been found on the FCC listing with IDs: BCGA3157, BCGA3158, and BCGA3160.

• The model numbers are A3157, A3158 and A3160. Out of these, the A3158 model could correspond to the left earbuds and the A3157 model number could mean the right earbuds.
• They are designed in the States and assembled in Vietnam.
• It will support both iOS and Android.
• It sports Bluetooth Low Energy and works in the frequency range of 2,400MHz to 2,483.5MHz.
• The device doesn’t allow simultaneous transmission capability though. This could mean it won’t support Bluetooth multi-connect or the ability to connect the earphones to two or more devices simultaneously. Meanwhile, AirPods Pro 2 allow seamless switching between Apple devices but the same is not possible with other platforms.

Powerbeats Pro 2 India availability

The BIS listing shows the Apple TWS with the same A1357 and A1358 model numbers. The listing confirms the product’s launch in the Indian market.

The predecessor had launched in India years after its global debut at a price tag of Rs 28,900. Let’s hope the Pro 2 launches alongside the global release.

Powerbeats Pro 2: what else we know

• In the Instagram teaser shared by Beats last September, we can see baseball star Shohei Ohtani wearing it while on the field.
• The Pro 2 has ear hooks to properly secure the buds on the ear.
• The main chassis looks thinner. Let’s see if they are lighter also.
• From other images shared on Beats Instagram, we get a better look at the earbud’s white and black colours. 
• Multiple reports suggest the Powerbeats Pro 2 could support a heart rate monitoring sensor. This feature could work when the user starts working out. 
• Other coveted upgrades include ANC, spatial audio, transparency mode, and a slimmer case with a USB-C charging port. Due to the EU mandate, Apple is sure to adopt USB-C charging. Let’s see.
