AMD Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors with Zen 5 architecture launched in India: prices, specs | Tech Tips
AMD Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors have been unveiled in India. These are built on the latest Zen 5 architecture, which is claimed to offer 16 percent better IPC performance than Zen 4 architecture. The flagship Ryzen 9 9950X is said to deliver the fastest consumer desktop performance in the world. AMD also introduced two new chipsets: AMD X870E and X870 and these are designed to work with the new processors.

Ryzen 9 9950X: Ryzen 9 9950X is the flagship processor and is claimed to handle the most demanding tasks from complex 3D rendering to running multiple virtual machines simultaneously. The processor comes in 16 cores and 32 threads option with a base frequency of 4.3GHz and boost frequency of up to 5.7GHz.
There is a Large L1 cache and 80MB total cache, Gen 5 PCIe and 170W TDP (thermal design power) support. AMD says the Ryzen 9 9950X will offer a smoother gameplay experience and high frame rates across various genres, including AAA titles and esports games.
Ryzen 9 9990X: The Ryzen 9 9990X is offered in 12 cores and 24 threads, with a base clock speed of 4.4GHz and a peak clock speed of 5.6GHz. The cache here is 76MB and 120W TDP.
Ryzen 7 9700X: The Ryzen 9700X is offered in 8 cores and 16 threads and offers a base clock speed of 3.8GHz and up to 5.5GHz boost frequency. We get a 40MB cache, Gen 5 PCIe and 65W TDP.
Ryzen 5 9600X: The processor comes in 6 cores and 12 threads, 3.9GHz base frequency and up to 5.4GHz boost frequency. There is 38MB of cache and 65W TDP.
AMD X870E and X870 chipsets are designed to work in sync with the new processors and support technologies like PCIe 5.0, DDR5 memory, USB 4 and Wi-Fi 7. AMD says the processors offer longer support, which is evident in the Socket AM5 platform.
