Amazon may launch quick commerce platform codenamed ‘Tez’ to take on Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart | Tech Tips

While the dependence on quick commerce platforms has already increased in the country with the rise of platforms like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto and more, leading tech giant Amazon is likely gearing up to launch its quick commerce delivery platform soon.

The company hasn’t revealed details so far, but a media report hints at it, and this venture will mark the company’s foray into quick delivery services. Here are the expected details of Amazon’s yet-to-be-announced upcoming venture.

Amazon quick commerce delivery platform details

• Citing sources, a report by The Economic Times states that Amazon India is gearing up to announce its quick commerce delivery service in the country.
• The quick commerce delivery platform is codenamed Tez. However, its final name hasn’t been decided yet, and it is expected to go live by late December or early 2025.
• Amazon India’s delivery platform will compete with quick delivery services like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto.
• According to the report, this sector recently recorded gross sales of $5.5-6 billion, which is around Rs 49,800 crore, in November 2024.
• The report also added that Amazon India is hiring new employees for its quick commerce project.
• In addition to using its delivery network, the company is also collaborating with other logistics providers to enable quick delivery services.

Notably, Amazon India hasn’t shared any details regarding the matter. However, it is reported that the matter is scheduled to be discussed during the next monthly review meeting in the first week of December. This discussion will take place before Amazon’s annual Smbhav event.

Apart from platforms like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart, Flipkart recently launched its quick commerce service, Minutes. The service has since expanded to operate in major cities across the country.
